Snow Flower

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan
by: Lisa See

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan is a beautiful book, but in turn is full of sad. There are pages that are not easy to read. And in this book Lisa See reflects the harsh life of Chinese women in the XIX, a time when women had to be completely submissive and obey every man, his father or son. In this context, the author creates a beautiful story of friendship between two women, White Lily and Snow Flower. At a time when women's feelings are irrelevant, these two women meet in the nu shu, a secret language exclusively female.
